The Registered Nurse (RN) is an integral part of the patient care team. The RN assists in the delivery of high quality, individualized patient care. The RN autonomously practices within the scope of RN licensure as defined by the California Board of Registered Nursing, and the Nurse Practice Act. The RN advocates for patients and their families, the care team and the organization. The RN designs and carries out the plan of care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluation.
Serves as the primary point of contact for both community and physician's office staff to schedule, reschedule or inquire general information regarding all scheduled services at Sonoma Valley Hospital. Confirms all basic demographic insurance information and updates into system. Serves as back up for registration in the Lobby and Emergency Room as needed to cover lunches, vacations and absences.

The Emergency Room (ER) Technician is part of the Emergency care team in which high customer service is paramount. Direct contact with patients, families, physicians and staff require a consistent approach to service excellence. This position is a front line member of the nursing team and coordinates all clerical aspects of patient processing. They collaborate with the nurses to ensure safe bed assignment, simple wound care, suture removal and other duties to support efficient, effective and timely patient care.
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is an important member of the patient care team, supporting patients, nurses and also overall unit functioning. The CNA is responsible for helping create and maintain a safe, healing environment for our patients, and a healthy working environment for the care team. This position is responsible for the daily work and work flow within the Surgical Care Unit (SCU). The Clinical Coordinator/SCU Charge RN supervises the nursing staff in coordinating schedules, nursing assignments and patient care in the preoperative and postoperative phases of surgery from preadmission through discharge.
The Physical Therapist evaluates and treats patients primarily in the outpatient physical therapy setting. Provides accurate and timely documentation and coordinates care with other health care professionals. The Emergency Nurse is responsible for high quality individualized patient care in the Emergency Department requiring a broad range of knowledge and expertise in the treatment of patients experiencing medical emergencies ranging from low acuity (earaches) to full blown resuscitative encounters (acute stroke, cardiac arrest). The Financial Counselor provides assistance to patients with Hospital Presumptive Eligibility (HPE) and Charity Care applications; may act as a liaison between the patient and Patient Advocate Vendor to obtain MediCal.
