Overview

The X-Ray/CT Technologist performs all radiologic (x-ray and computed tomography) examinations and techniques while obtaining complete, high quality, diagnostic examinations for Radiologists. Administers contrast as prescribed. Assists physicians during procedures, adhering to sterile technique guidelines. Monitors and maintains patient safety at all times. Performs routine quality control on x-ray and CT equipment. 

Responsibilities

Performs all Radiologic (X-ray and CT) techniques and examinations. Administers contrast as prescribed. Obtains complete, high quality, diagnostic examinations for Radiologists. 

 

Assists physicians during procedures. Adheres to sterile technique guidelines.

 

Obtains pertinent patient history. Reviews physician orders for accuracy and records pertinent information. 

 

Monitors and maintains essential patient care and safety during procedures; applies safety principles as identified by established policy. Provides safe patient transport and handling. 

 

Maintains order and cleanliness of rooms and equipment per infection control guidelines. 

 

Performs routine quality control on x-ray and CT equipment.  

 

Assists in other areas, such as reception duties and clerical responsibilities.

 

Ensures compliance with legal issues including but not limited to patient confidentiality and risk management; ensures compliance with accrediting and regulating bodies.

 

Ensures equipment is functioning properly, troubleshoots malfunctions, and puts in work order tickets for any equipment needing repair. 

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
Experience: 1 - 2 years previous experience performing radiography, with the ability to perform all CT procedures independently within 6 months of hire.
Licenses & Certifications: Valid and current California CRT, ARRT Certification & Registration R.T. ( R ), California Fluoroscopy certificate within 6 months of employment, CPR, venipuncture certificate or equivalent (may obtain within 90 days of hire)
Required Skills & Knowledge: Ability to perform diagnostic imaging that adheres to department and hospital protocol, policies, and procedures; Excellent written and verbal communication skills (bilingual a plus); Commitment to excellence and high standards while working with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.

 

Compensation

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to level of experience, education, special skills and/or certifications.

Minimum:

USD $44.73

Maximum:

USD $61.50
