Under the direction of the Chief of Support Services, the Facilities Project Manager (FPM) is responsible for planning, design and construction management of all assigned projects from inception to project close-out. Projects can consist of capital improvements, equipment installations and reconfigurations for internal or outsourced construction ranging from $10K - $10M+. The FPM will ensure project completion is within budget, on schedule and meets program objectives and all jurisdictional agencies regulations.
Develop project scope in collaboration with Hospital Leadership and key stakeholders. Project scope includes coordination of all project phases, including but not limited to design/space planning, construction management, facility impact mitigation planning/implementation and department move management.
Develop budget and schedule for projects including coordination of consultants and contracts. Works with Architects and Engineers in the development of construction documents. Provide value engineering assessment or alternative options for Hospital leadership review during project design to maximize budget.
Prepare and issue all bidding documents including RFP's for negotiated contracts, informal and public bidding. Facilitate selection process of contractors and consultants in collaboration with Hospital Executive Team. Prepare project contracts for approval and execution.
Facilitate selection and purchase of materials, equipment, furniture and fixtures in line with Hospital typical standards used on the projects. Review specifications of proposed major equipment to determine compatibility with the Hospital facility.
Oversee construction crew activities. Plan and coordinate all facility impacts with Plant Operations and users. Plan, implement and monitor infection prevention and safety measures on project sites in accordance with Hospital policies and agency regulations.
Coordinate and secure authorization from Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for construction permits, utility shutdowns, or proceed with work not requiring permit. Analzye and recommend solutions for resolving barriers of regulatory compliance in order to keep project within budget and schedule.
Conduct meetings with user groups and produce materials/presentations to solicit feedback and/or communicate project plans. Follow-up with information, data reports and research as required.
Monitor budget/project costs; review invoices, Produce and communicate project progress documentation including timelines, schedule updates, and budget monitoring.
Maintain archival project files, approved and as-built drawings, reports, drawings, inspections, submittals, and all other materials used to document compliant completion of the project.
Education: Bachelor Degree in a work-related discipline/field from accredited college or university; or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience necessary to meet the requirements of the position.
Experience: 3 years HCAI (OSHPD 1&3) healthcare construction experience is required. 2 years of project management/supervision experience preferred. Design-build experience a plus.
Licenses & Certifications: Construction Management Certification (CCM) and/or Project Management Certification (PMP) a plus.
Required Skills & Knowledge: Trained in blueprint reading including electrical and mechanical drawings. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint and Project Management and scheduling software. Strong verbal, written and presentation skills. Effective organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate a clear plan/recommendation. Ability to prioritize work and competing priorities with the flexibility to rapidly change direction. Effective interpersonal skills in building and maintaining relationships in all levels of an organization.
