Overview

Performs a variety of tasks to ensure proper set up and delivery of meals and supplies for patient and non-patient food service. 

Responsibilities

Assembles patient meals (tray line) accurately and according to diet order or tray ticket. Measures food portions into individual servings. Prepares drinks to appropriate consistency.

 

Works cash register. Counts and reconciles cash.

 

As assigned delivers meals, snacks, or supplies to patients, nurses, or patient nourishment rooms.

 

Prepares and delivers catering orders as needed.

 

Receives and stores product deliveries such as groceries, tube feedings, supplements, office supplies, equipment, and paper goods. Organizes new products in proper location using "First In, First Out" (FIFO) method. Discards dented products, extra cardboard or garbage, labels all products as assigned. Inspects deliveries and reviews invoices for accuracy and proper condition of goods. 

 

Stocks assigned areas with products as needed. 

 

Organizes, cleans, and sanitizes assigned areas in kitchen and equipment according to assigned procedures and frequency. Cleans equipment such as coffee brewers, microwaves, blenders, toasters, refrigerators, freezers, work surfaces, food carts, drawers, floors, mats, walls, etc. Cleaning of other areas may include storerooms and office areas. Washes, cleans, and sanitizes pots, pans, dishes, and all serving utensils per protocols. 

 

Labels food with use by dates per guidelines.  Discards food as needed per protocols. 

 

Records all assigned data such as food storage temperatures, dishwasher temperatures, and pH levels as assigned.

 

Assists in training new employees and performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Experience: At least 6 months of food service experience in a health care facility or 6 months restaurant experience.
Licenses & Certifications: Food Handler's Card required or obtain within 90 days of employment.
Required Skills & Knowledge: Ability to read, write, and speak English. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions. Demonstrates service oriented behaviors that includes culturally sensitive good manners, respect, and polite communications. Demonstrates openness to creative and innovative approaches to providing service. Maintains confidentiality; treats co-workers, patients, and facility visitor with respect.. Be able to stand for long periods of time. Contributes to building a positive team spirit. Knowledge of basic nutrition is desirable. 

Compensation

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to level of experience, education, special skills and/or certifications.

Minimum:

USD $20.54

Maximum:

USD $26.70
