Overview

Under the direction of the Medical Director, provides primary patient care, performs medical examinations and compiles medical data. Follows all protocols and provides care within scope of practice. Prepares timely, legible and complete documentation of all patient care as provided by law, regulation and established policy. Communicates and works with medical staff to ensure coordinated efforts for the provision of high quality medical treatment and patient service.

Responsibilities

Performs all procedures per policy and procedure and within scope of practice.


Orders, reads, evaluates and prescribes medications, labs, and x-rays accurately and appropriately.


Prepares timely, legible, and complete documentation of all patient care as provided by law, regulation and established policy ensuring timely submission of insurance claims.


Communicates and works with medical staff to ensure coordinated efforts for the provision of high quality medical treatment. Communicates with employers as needed.


Participates in quality improvement and utilization review activities, assists with policy and procedure review and revision as needed.


Assists Manager with program development and cross sells Occupational Health services to clients.


Active Participant in monthly staff meetings.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

 
Experience: 3-5 years experience in Occupational Health, Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine.


License or Certification: Certified Nurse Practitioner, California Board of Registered Nursing, Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License, California Board of Registered Nursing, National Provider Identifier, Current BLS, Breath Alcohol Certification, DOT Certified for Physician Exams.


Required Skills or Knowledge: Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols. Demonstrates competence in reacting to and handling emergencies. Able to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, diplomacy, and discipline. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to manage priorities and workflow. Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing environment. Acute attention to detail. Must be able to work autonomously. Strong interpersonal skills, Bilingual a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Compensation

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to level of experience, education, special skills and/or certifications.

USD $109.72
